Japanese trading company Marubeni Corp said on Tuesday it aims to cut its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050 and it moves forward its 2030 goal of halving its net coal power generating capacity from 2018 level to 2025.

Coal mining company Kangra, which was put on care and maintenance due to COVID-19 lockdowns in the domestic and export markets, has resumed operations at its coal mine, located in Saul Mkhizeville in the province of Mpumalanga, South Africa, has with the opening of Pit C.
The management of Kangra, a subsidiary of private investment company Menar, has over the last few weeks engaged various stakeholders to enable smooth commencement of operations that were suspended in March 2020.
Bradley Hammond, Menar Chief Operating Officer, who is overseeing the resumption of operations, said that Kangra was in the process of ramping up operations in order to meet customer supply requirements.
